Wyandottes originated in the US in the mid 19th century and first appeared as the Silver Laced Wyandotte variety. It’s not sure which chickens the breed originated from but it’s thought that Cochins, Brahmas & Hamburgs were involved in starting this strain. (more…)

The New Hampshire Red is derived from the Rhode Island Red chicken by selective breeding of certain characteristics, for instance; rapid full feathering, large brown egg laying and fast maturity. Only the rhodies blood line was used.

Although the large bird was developed in the New England region, the bantam variety was developed in the Netherlands. (more…)
